Beyonce released the visual album for her 2019 Lion King: The Gift album, and if there’s anything to be said about Black Is King, it’s that the outfits are 🔥🔥🔥. And because we love you, we compiled a list of the best looks from the Black Is King visual album. Check it out!
Jungle fever
Taking it back to the motherland, Beyonce drew a lot of inspiration from nature. Whether it’s the leopard prints from Southern and South East Africa or cow hides of the nomadic tribes or wild birds in the trees; they all featured in this amazing display of humanity not as a threat to nature but as a part of it.
Sparkly
Beyonce loves to shine so much that she has repeatedly sung and rapped about diamonds. Queen Bey doesn’t shy away stone-encrusted outfits and we love to see it.
White
Is there anything dark skin stands out better in?
Blue
Not Ivy.
Pink
The woman behind all these amazing looks is Zerina Akers; a stylist who is not a new name to fashion insiders but certainly a breakout one to the masses now Googling and following the spectacularly diverse parade of looks in the 85-minute film.
According to Akers, who has worked with Beyonce for 6 years, this project took 3 months and a team of 7 people; conceiving the designs and hiring black businesses to get everything done during the quarantine. As members of the Beyhive, we really appreciate the effort.
