If you are conversant with conversations on social media, you probably have noticed all the Osita Iheme memes that have been flooding Twitter timelines.
The popular Nollywood actor, otherwise known as Pawpaw has since been reigning as the centre of attention on social media with his meme going viral on Twitter and other social media platforms.
Famous for playing pranks on adults in movies, Pawpaw recorded his first breakthrough in 2007 with the movie –Aki na Ukwa. But last year (2019), he started making rounds on the internet, as memes of his movie characters surfaced the internet.
The actor wormed his way back to people’s hearts through social media, when Nigerians began using clips and screenshots from his Nollywood videos as memes. It was however Rihanna and 50 Cent’s usage of the videos as memes that gave Pawpaw a far larger global recognition than he’d ever gotten.
Pawpaw turned 38-year-old today (Tuesday, December 15, 2020), and it’s in this light that eelive.ng presents below some fun facts about him that you probably didn’t know:
- He started his acting career in the year 2001 in Nollywood.
- Before entering into movies, he completed a Bachelor’s Degree from Lagos State University (LASU).
- He hails from Mbaitoli, Imo State, Nigeria, but grew up in Abia State.
- In 2007, PawPaw received Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Movie Awards.
- He has acted in 150+ movies, which include –Aki Na Ukwa, Stubborn Flies, Boys from Holland, Baby Police, amongst other blockbusters.
- Pawpaw is a recipient of the Nigerian National Honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
- He is also an author and an NGO operator.
