In a bid to promote African-made fabrics, The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi made his runway debut at The Africa Fashion Week. And he has won praise for walking the run way which held in Lagos. He swayed the runway with confidence, melting hearts in the process.
For the appearance, The Ooni of Ife brightened the runway in his locally made all-white majestic ensemble.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, the Ooni of Ife urged Nigerians to promote locally-made fabrics and products to boost the nation’s tourism industry.
According to him, such promotions are being encouraged by the Africa Fashion Week, Nigeria and London, which had continued to promote the pride of Nigerians and African fabrics.
“Africa Fashion Week shows usually held in Lagos and London annually and has continued to create an international brand in the entertainment industry for Nigeria.
“The fashion week has been promoting the pride of Nigeria and Africa at large to the entire world and has been waxing stronger,” he said.
He went on to encourage Nigerians to go for made-in-Nigeria fabrics and products to enable job creation and youth empowerment through the fashion industry.
The Africa Fashion Week aims to promote emerging designers within and outside the shores of Nigeria.
Just recently, The Ooni of Ife revealed his plan to build a movie city in Nigeria. The monarch who has a burning passion for the Nigerian Entertainment Industry was conferred with the Grand Patron of the Directors Guild of Nigeria and Imperial Majesty of Nigeria.
