Nollywood actress, Omowunmi Dada has explained the role she’s playing in filmmaker Tunde Kelani‘s forthcoming biopic of Àpàlà musician, Ayinla Yusuf, popularly known as Ayinla Omowura.
Speaking on Channels TV‘s Nollywood Uncut, the screen-diva said she’s playing the role of Deborah, who’s Omowura’s girlfriend in the movie that documents the life and times of the late Àpàlà music maestro.
“I’m playing the character, Debora – a beautiful, intelligent, and educated young lady in the 70s, who happened to meet Omowura, and of course, there’s a love relationship between them.
“She happened to be the very last moment in his love life, and a catalyst to what resulted in Omowura’s death…. She met him at the later part of his life, and helped him become a better person –got him into being an educated-socialite person and things like that, but unfortunately, she became a catalyst to the event that led to Omowura’s death,” she stated.
In the movie, Dada will be starring alongside Lateef Adedimeji, Bimbo Manuel, Ade Laoye, Kunle Afolayan, amongst others.
