Omoni Oboli Has a Message For Women

Nigerian actress Omoni Oboli, has advised women to learn how to take care of themselves while carrying out their societal duties.

The mother of three who doubles as a film producer and director took to her Instagram page to share a picture of herself shopping in a Rolex store while urging women to take care of themselves like they take care of others.

“Dear woman…it’s important you take care of yourself. Most of us work very hard, taking care of everyone else. See learn to treat yourself from time to time. Go on a trip, pamper yourself at the spa, buy something that makes you happy!” Omoni Oboli wrote.

“Normalise luxury and enjoyment. We didn’t come to this life just to work and pay bills. Only the best is good enough for me!”

Oboli has been advocating for women development in Nigeria. In July, she stated that women have been greatly marginalised in the country’s political system during a citizens’ town hall on electoral reforms organised by YIAGA Africa. She added that women would vie for elective positions when the political process is transformed.

In her words; “Women have been greatly marginalised. It’s very dissappointing that even till now, we don’t want women in key elective positions. They’re mostly appointed into offices not elected.”
