Omo Ghetto The Saga, a sequel to the 2010 released, Omo Ghetto has maintained the lead in Nigerian cinemas since it started showing on December 25.
Data made available by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) showed that the movie has raked in a cumulative revenue of over N124 million in one week, making it the highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2020.
Omo ghetto The Saga had opened in 59 locations in its first 3 days pulling in over 57,000 tickets admissions nationwide.
Since its release the, Funke Akindele directed movie has posted the most robust box-office returns of any new release since the onset of the pandemic and has taken Nollywood by surprise.
It also displaced Fate of Alakada: The Party Planner a movie by Toyin Abraham which had taken the number one spot at the cinemas.

The film follows Lefty (Funke Akindele) and her friends, Nikky (Bimbo Thomas), Busty (Eniola Badmus) and Chummy Choko (Chioma Akpotha) in Askamaya Ghetto.
The original movie was directed by Abiodun Olarenwaju. It follows the tale of twin sisters who were leaving separate lives but later become reunited by series of dramatic twists.
It featured some Nollywood heavyweights like Rachel Oniga, Taiwo Hassan, Yinka Quadri, Eniola Badmus and Ronke Ojo.
