Nollywood actress, Omowunmi Dada has opened up on her role in EbonyLife‘s newly-released movie, Oloture, saying the Linda role she played is divine.
In an interview with Guardian, Dada said her role in the movie gave her the opportunity to tell stories that matter, adding that the Linda character exposed the ills of sex-trafficking in Africa.
Her words: “From my audition to getting the part to reading the script to filming, everything was divinely orchestrated by God. I was blown away when I read the script. I knew this was not just another script. This was an opportunity to change the narrative and to exposing the ills of sex trafficking that has eaten deeply into the core of several African countries.”
Speaking on the challenges attached to the role she played in Oloture, Dada explained that the fact that she had to smoke in the movie, tells how challenging the role was.
“Being Linda was challenging. The character had to smoke. I don’t smoke in real life but I had to do it right. There were days where I would be sick and weak but knowing that there was a Linda out there who needed to make amends urged me on,” she explained.
Meanwhile, a review of Oloture published on eelive.ng, expressed its satisfaction. The review read that with the movie, Nollywood makes Nigeria proud.
