Nigerian superstar and indigenous rapper, Olamide Adedeji, better known as Olamide Baddo is a happy man after he signed a deal with international record label and publishing company, Empire.
On Tuesday 18th February, the excited YBNL boss made news of the Empire deal public on social media. Olamide announced that henceforth, any artiste he signs, including FireboyDML, will reap from the resources, relationships, and benefits tied to the joint venture record deal.
He wrote:
“Happy to announce that YBNL and Empire got a joint venture deal. Myself and Fireboy with any other act I sign next ready to shake the world.“
Announcing this great news with excitement, Empire tweeted with their official account;
“Nigeria going global. Excited to continue this journey with you and the YBNL family.”
Empire Distribution, Records and Publishing Inc. is an American distribution company and record label; which Ghazi Shami established in 2010. The headquarters are in San Francisco, California with offices in New York City, London, and Atlanta. The label boasts of big names like Snoop Dogg, Tyga, Kendrick Lamar, the late xxxtentacion.
Just last week, Olamide released his nine-track extended play titled 999. In a move that broke the internet, this came a day after he fixed the project’s release date.
On Sunday, the Twittersphere was buzzing minutes after the 30-year-old record label boss released the tracklist to the project he never teased.
999 features a league of indigenous hip hop stars including Phyno, Rhatti, Show, Cheque, Jayboi, Sosa-E, and Jackwillz. STG mixed and mastered this project, while Olamide, Cracker Mallo, Pheelz, Eskeez, and ID Cabasa worked on the production.
Coming as Olamide’s tenth studio project, it includes tracks like Warlord, Billion Talk, Dance with the Devil, Prophesy, Demons, and Rich + Famous.
