Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas has emerged winner of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2019 contest after defeating 36 other contestants.
The 32nd edition tagged “Every Woman”, was held at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Bayelsa on Friday night.
Miss Nyekachi Douglas is to get a brand new car as the winner and will also represent Nigeria at the 69th edition of the Miss World pageant billed to hold at the ExCeL London in London, United Kingdom on December 14, 2019.
Miss Taraba, Olutosin Araromi, who clinched the first runner-up position, will represent Nigeria at the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition in Seoul, South Korea.
The second runner-up, Miss Abuja, Pamela Ifejoku, will represent Nigeria at Miss ECOWAS contest.
Miss Edo, Akeelah Aminu and Miss Bayelsa, Becky Ogene, came third and fourth runners up respectively.
The MBGN pageant, which began in 1983, was originally called ‘Miss Universe Nigeria’. It gained attention after it changed its name to ‘Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria’ in 1986.
