Nonso Ezekwueche: From Pharmacy to Fashion Blogging

These days, not only female fashion bloggers are turning heads and creating waves. The gents are also causing a serious stir. One of such is Canada based Chukwunonso Ezekwueche, a menswear blogger and stylist who brings fresh and vibrant energy to the Instagram feeds of his followers. “I came into the Canadian fashion industry to stand out and not blend nin,” he told Eelive.ng in an interview.

Although Ezekwueche bagged a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree in Nigeria, he moved to Canada in 2017 to pursue his passion which is men’s fashion and lifestyle blogging.

Explaining that his passion for fashion stared from childhood, he told eelive.ng:

My fashion sense was inspired by my family, peer groups and my surroundings way back as a child. I grew up in a family with a more expressive and flamboyant fashion sense. As I grew older, I simply rely on my mood and what I feel like expressing. I am not a trendy person. I just go with my guts and my outfits turn out surprisingly nice,” he said.

Nonso’s journey into the fashion industry

On why he set up the blog, Ezekwueche said that it was to give expression to his creativity. Similarly, to teach men how to look dapper even when short on cash.

He said he wanted to help people find and follow their personal style rather than chasing trends because “trends come and go.”

In this time and age of unemployment and pay cuts, the pharmacist turned blogger believes that money should be saved and channelled to more important projects than simply splurging on expensive fashion. He is determined to leave a lasting impact by preaching affordable and sustainable fashion.

Turning Instagram into an art form

Ezekwueche has turned Instagram into his art form with his fashion pictures and clothing choices. His major platform for blogging Instagram, sees some thousand followers who rely on him for fashion and lifestyle advice. A quick glance at his Instagram page speaks volumes on his versatility in style and attention to details. He is currently working with some men’s fashion and lifestyle brands such as Fashionnovamen, Marks Canada, Huawei, Original Penguin, and World Remit.

The blogger was named as the best dressed male at AfroFest Toronto 2019. He was nominated as one of the best ten best dressed males at the Queens Plate Festival held in Toronto.

On what he does when he is not working, he had this to say:

When I am not running around the city taking pictures for my next collaboration or looking for potential backdrops for future projects, I am again working, brainstorming and putting my best foot forward.”
