Popular Nollywood actor, John Adewunmi aka Tafa Oloyede, has been announced dead at the age of 69.
The actor reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
According to multiple reports, Adewunmi’s death was announced by some of his colleagues on Tuesday evening.
Though the cause of the veteran actor’s death is yet to be ascertained, he was reported to have died at his residence in Arowomole, Kajola area of Osogbo in Osun State.
The late Adewunmi, who hails from Ede in Osun State, began his career as an actor in the Yoruba film industry in 1974.
He had his tutelage under the late Oyin Adejobi and became famous for his role as Tafa Oloyede in one of the late Adejobi’s television productions.
Adewunmi, before his demise, featured in several movies which include ‘Jaiyesimi’, ‘Ayanmo’, ‘Ekuro Oloja’, ‘Orogun Adedigba’, ‘Akanji Oniposi’, ‘Kuye’ among others.
He is survived by his wife and children.
