One of the issues independent Nigerian women are forced to address at some point in their career is “feminism”. There’s hardly a female celebrity who escapes the question either as a direct interview or some other way.
Award-winning Afropop artiste, Niniola, has aired her view on the issue.
Speaking with Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, on the latest episode of her cooking show, “Mercy’s Menu, Niniola explained that she just loves to live her life on her own terms.
She further disclosed that feminism in itself is not what some people think it is. According to her, it was just “too much grammar” to explain a simple term that meant “living your life the way you want”.
Answering Mercy’s question on the possibility of being a feminist, Niniola had this to say:
“I just like to live my life by my own rules. When people talk about feminism, I think it is too much grammar. Just live your life the way you want it.”
