Niniola Apata, Nigeria’s award winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, has announced that her sophomore album will drop on Friday, October 2, 2020.
The Afro-house artiste revealed this via a post on her twitter that reads: “2nd October We Lit “.
The 13-track album titled, Colours and Sounds, was rumoured on the 16th of July this year to be released this month. But couldn’t drop for some reason.
Colours and Sounds would be a follow-up to her critically-acclaimed debut album, This Is Me which was released in 2017.
Producers in the Album include music icon and Verzuz co-founder, Timbaland; Niniola’s long-time collaborator Sarz and fellow Nigerian beatmakers Kel-P and Nonso Amadi; Jamaica’s Teflon Zincfence; and South Africa’s Shuffle Muzik.
Featured artistes on the album include U.K. Afrowave boss, Afro B, South Africa’s Busiswa, Femi Kuti, and Kenyan trio Sauti Sol.
As fans all over the word express their excitement and anxiousness, here is what Niniola has to say: “My music is colourful and vibrant — it’s traveled across borders and it’s being played by different ethnicities, whether black or white,” NINIOLA says. “Even though my root genre is Afro-House, I can do it all -— R&B, pop, folk. So I am basically a girl of many Colours and Sounds.”
