
Nigerian thespian, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, has shared her battle with debilitating morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum, while pregnant with her second child.
The actress and her husband, singer Bankole Wellington, who is better known as Banky W, welcomed their second child in 2024.
Adesua recalled her experience while reacting to a report about a pregnant UK woman who died by suicide after extreme morning sickness left her bedridden.

According to PEOPLE, Jess Cronshaw took her life while struggling with the debilitating condition, which causes extreme nausea, vomiting, often leading to weight loss and dehydration.
In a post on her Instagram story, Adesua expressed frustration over people not understanding how serious the condition is.
She also appreciated her husband, doctors, family and friends for rallying around her.
“When I talk about the seriousness of hyperemesis gravidarum, people don’t get it and I hate it,” she wrote.
“It is not ordinary morning sickness. It is a serious condition that literally affects the quality of your life.”
