Lotanna Udezue, Nigerian music producer, rapper and singer, popularly known as Biglo has died from COVID-19 complications in California, USA.
The rapper had been battling kidney failure for a while.
Singer, Jazzman Olofin broke the news in a post via his social media page on Sunday. Olofin disclosed that the singer died on Saturday night. He went on to describe the deceased as a man who fought bravely until he passed away.
“Dear BIGLO , heard the sad news last night you passed away. You fought bravely all the way but GOD Almighty knows best. We’ll keep the fire burning. Rest in peace, bro,” he wrote.
Prior to his death, the rapper had announced on his Facebook page that he had contracted Coronavirus and appealed to everyone to pray for him.
Biglo shot into limelight with his 2004 single, Delicious in which he featured rapper, 2shotz.
Although the track earned him a Hip Hop World Award for Best Rap Collabo, the chubby rapper, however, went underground after the buzz died down.
In 2019, the rapper had disclosed that he was diagnosed with renal kidney failure in July 2018. (Read here).
At the time, Biglo appealed for help from the general public so he could foot his bills and get a kidney transplant in India.
His death further stretches the list of celebrities who have breathed their last since the dawn of the year.
