Nigerian Porn Actors Spill the Journey

With the increasing use of smartphones and access to the internet, pornography is catching on in Nigeria as in other countries of the world. One of the manifestations of this is the emergence of numerous local porn actors and filmmakers creating x-rated content for the pleasure of porn enthusiasts. Eelive.ng recently caught up with some of the homemade porn stars where the conversation about their motivation and benefit ensured.

One of the actors, whose real name is Suleiman, explained that he is motivated by a combination of fun and cash. The 26-year-old, whose professional name is Blackbear; told eelive.ng: “I love girls. And if there is are no feelings attached to it and I will get paid for it, it’s pleasure all around.”

Candy Splash, a 25-year-old lady revealed that a friend introduced her into acting porn; even though she has always wanted fun in new ways. Speaking with eelive.ng, she said: “A friend of mine introduced me to it for fun and I liked it. I became interested to do so may fun crazy thing, excited about it. It wasn’t really difficult for me to do. I see it as part of trying to explore new things like new fun thing, exposure sort of. It just happened for me like that.”

Asked if the thought of becoming a porn actress ever crossed her mind before now; the Abia state-born, Micheal Okpara University graduate of Computer Science Education replied: “No, I never thought… I’ve always been a shy person. I never thought I could be naked in front of people; to do these crazy things but this has taken my shyness away. I found out I could do so much crazy stuff I didn’t even know and it was fun.”

One common things to almost all those who spoke to eelive.ng is their ealier introduction to the consumption of pornography; either though photographs on films on the internet.

26-year-old Candy Splash, Keisha, told eelive.ng that even though a friend of hers, who was already a porn star, introduced the profession; she had developed an interest from years of expose to pornography. Keisha’s words: “A friend inspired me into acting porn. I watched a lot of porn so I already had an interest in it at the time my friend introduced it to me. So I decided that I was good to go with it.”

Onome, 30-year old graduate of Library and Information Science from the Delta State University, said his desire to act porn started with his addiction to watching porn.

“I have always watched porn since when I was young. Since I was between 10 and 11 year-old, I’ve been watching it. I was very smart, and I started with pictures in magazines and comics and things like that. That’s how it started before the internet came, from there I started seeing internet porn and here, I am today.”

“I used to picture myself in the scenes that I watched. Telling myself that I could also do this. I always loved to be part of it and I wondered that if they were doing something like this abroad; at least they should be doing it in Nigeria and so I tried to find out. I discovered that people make porn in Nigeria. So, I joined,” the man with professional name Porn Actor said.

Why I produce porn

Describing her fulfilment in her establishment, Sinful Friday, a thriving porn site on the internet; Seyi Hunter, explained to eelive.ng that porn is profitable and returns are very certain. She said, “It’s very profitable. Unlike other businesses in the entertainment industry, in porn, you’re certain of getting your money back and more. It’s 100% money back. Like the last production, we did we had 2 investors who are each getting 30% ROI in 3 months. The Porn is my baby and it’s what is funding my Nollywood productions and my other businesses.”

Ms Hunter added: “I intend to build empires through Sinful Friday by the grace of God. I intend to get to a stage where I don’t have to work anymore and be making money. You know that stage you can comfortably travel the world without thinking of working or rushing back to shoot. For instance, I was a Personal Assistant to someone based in London. He was in his late 40’s, he doesn’t work or stress himself, he had invested. He’s not even 50-year-old yet and he’s already chilling. He’s my role model, I want to retire early.”

Porn
We Are Well Paid

Although the four actors who spoke to us all own up that adventure and fun-seeking is one of the reasons they chose porn; they are united in the well-paying nature of their endeavour. Crediting her passion for porn to fun, Candy Splash explained that money also motivates her into doing it. Her words: “Fun and the money, it can’t just be the fun alone, the money also. We get paid nothing less than one and hundred and fifty thousand for less than one wee that we are on location and I don’t know how many jobs pay more than that.”

Porn Actor, who is also a DJ and graphic artist corroborated this point; even though he explained that pornography pays almost as much as his two other endeavours. Adamawa State-born Blackbear was emphatic about the fact that porn pays more than photography; which he engages in when he is not in school.

For Nigerian porn stars, parental consent and criticism from members of the public and people who know them don’t define their happiness in their choices of profession.

Porn

Speaking on parental consent, Blackbear who is a Master’s degree student in Public Administration noted that that’s the least of his worries. “I don’t mind them seeing my porn films and even if they do, there is nothing. It would have happened already, and there’s nothing they can do about it. Nothing to worry about, life goes on,” he said.

Similarly, Candy Crush stated that her parents, friends and family members don’t decide what to do with her life. Her words: “I have always been the type that likes doing things I choose to do. It’s not like I don’t consider their opinion. I know they might not like it but they know the kind of person I am and the kind of child they have. They just have to get used to it and will have to accept me for my choice.

“It doesn’t really matter if they like it or not. I just have to do what I want to do for myself, that’s just it. I have to keep moving. This might not be a lifetime career, no; I never said it is a lifetime career. This is just something I do till I can achieve what I am looking for.”

As a matter of fact, Candy Crush has the ambition to become a Professor of Computer Science she loves to teach. She also does not see how doing porn at any point in her life should stop this ambition; especially since porn would help her raise money to pursue her dream.

Porn

Admitting that critics are part of the game, Porn Actor who wanted to remain anonymous; stated: “I know Nigerians are judgmental and they are going to say this guy is stupid. But I don’t care, that’s just it”. Porn Actor is not married but in a steady relationship. Does his girlfriend know what he does?

“No, she doesn’t. I have not told her. I intend to marry her, so I will tell her before we wed. And if she doesn’t like it, then she can go. I hope to do this for a long time and become one of the first sets of Nigerians to be identified with porn. I have a few of my videos, which are amateur on some sites, so I am not joking about this.”

Although he claims to be enjoying his life, Porn Actor warns parents about exposing and giving their children unsupervised access to the internet. He pointed out that any contact with unsavoury content like porn could put this in their memories forever like it did his. Parents should indeed watch out for what their children are exposed to,” he concluded in answer to eelive.ng request for counsel for parents.

Porn Actor believes that if anyone comes to the decision of going into the porn industry, that decision has to be made in their adulthood; not because of content they were exposed to when they were underage.
