The COVID-19 pandemic took the world by surprise, and a lot of people the dreadful disease when they contracted it.
Below are five Nigerian celebrities contracted the virus:
Peter Okoye
On June 27, 2020, Peter Okoye otherwise known as Mr P announced that he had been infected with the infectious disease.
In a four-minute video on his Instagram page, the music star shared his COVID-19 experience and how he was able to defeat the virus. He has, however, recovered completely.
Chioma Avril Roland
Davido‘s fiancee, Chioma, tested positive for COVID-19 on March 20, 2020. The duo had just returned from the United States when the latter was confirmed COVID-19 positive. She, however, had to self-isolate for sometime before it was confirmed that she was fully recovered. She is now free of the virus.
King Udoh
King Udoh was reported to be the first Nigerian footballer to contract the virus. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 27, after which he was quarantined.
Weeks after contracting it, Udoh’s manager disclosed that he was now free from the virus.
Ladipoe
The artiste shared on his social media accounts that he had contacted the Coronavirus and was in quarantine on October 28, 2020.
He admonished everyone to take precautions and keep social distancing.
Toke Makinwa
After Ladipoe came out to say he was diagnosed with the coronavirus, entrepreneur, and Tv personality, Toke Makinwa, also came to share with her fans that she had even contacted the virus.
In her words, she said, “The COVID-19 experience I have been missing in action for a bit, guys, the last two weeks of my life have been pretty tough to handle. I tested positive to COVID-19, and my experience wasn’t great (I mean, it’s Covid). Shooting this Vlog was a lot as I am not 100 percent yet, but I’m hopeful the worst days are behind me.”
It is however pertinent to note that COVID-19 is still raging across the world. Hence, the need for everyone to take the necessary precautions needed in order to curtail the spread of the disease cannot be overemphasised.
