Nigerian actor, Sam Obiago, better known as Daddy Sam, has passed away.
The National President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the death on Thursday through his Instagram page.
Rollas wrote, ‘Another sad day. RIP Daddy Sam.”
Speaking further on Obiago’s death, Abubakar Yakubu, national secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, (AGN) said the late actor died after a battle with stroke.
He explained “He had a stroke some few months back and was recuperating; only for us to hear that he passed away at about 2 am today. We’ve visited the family in Asaba. The chairman of AGN there is still discussing with them.
Obiago started acting in Nollywood movies in 2013 and has risen to be one of the star actors in the Nigerian movie industry.
He featured in over hundreds of Nollywood movies such as; ‘Gifted’, ‘Tears Of A King’, ‘Woman Of Fire’, ‘Ghana Island’, ‘Royal Turning Point’, ‘Royal Appointment’, ‘Bargain’, ‘Combined Forces’, ‘Altar Of Love’, and ‘Wishes’.
Others are ‘Throne Of Fire’, ‘Ancient Key’, ‘Wicked Tradition’, ‘Tortured Heart’, ‘Royal Wreck’, ‘The King’s Decision’, ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘The Orbit’, ‘Strength Of Womanhood’, ‘Battle Of Kings’ and Royal Headache.
Also, Obiago got nominations for several awards during his lifetime.
