Francis Duru, Nigerian actor, is mourning the death of his father.
The actor, taking to his Instagram page on Wednesday, announced the passing away of his dad.
Sharing his last picture with his dad, he said he is heartbroken as a result of the tragic loss.
He wrote “My last pix with you..dad..memories of yesterday..u defined my essence…built my being…took the tough and the rough to put me on the turf…of life..I salute you dad.
“As you took your last bow and transitted to glory…u broke my heart this morning when you refused to wake..mum just left..you too ..hmm…so heavy…so painful…thank you..thank you…thank you dad for all..thank you..Will miss you.”
In November 2020, the actor announced his mother’s death through his Instagram page three days before her burial.
Duru’s mother died at the age of 76. However, the actor did not disclose his father’s age.
Duru began his career as an actor in 1989 with a movie titled ‘Missing Mark’.
Duru became more prominent in the Nigerian movie industry in 1994 after featuring in an action comedy movie titled Rattle Snake. He played a significant role of a character called Ahanna
In 2007, he received the United Nations Ambassador of Peace award for his positive influence on the youths. In 2010 Duru was appointed as the interim president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and also in the same year got nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
