Never ever has a title of an article so thoroughly encompassed the information therein. Nicholas Cage is starring in a movie about himself, and the award-winning actor will play himself.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie seems like a whirlwind for Nicolas Cage’s character. The story is complicated, requiring Cage to play different versions of himself.

Also, Cage will be playing a fictional, “egotistical” ’90s version of himself. This version of himself will nag present-day Nic for making “too many crappy movies” and “not being a star anymore.”

In the midst of that, Cage’s character will also be under a “mountain of debt”. Cage’s character will also have a strained relationship with his daughter, whereas the real Nic Cage has two sons.

He will then be forced to appear at a birthday party for a Mexican billionaire — and a huge Nicholas Cage fan. Nic will also find out that the billionaire is actually a “drug cartel kingpin”.

The drug cartel boss then shows Cage a script he is writing for him. The CIA will then recruit Cage to help them catch the Mexican drug lord.

The story is meta and includes nods to Cage works such as “Leaving Las Vegas”, “Face-Off” and “Gone in 60 Seconds”. However, the part Cage and the Mexican are writing begin to mirror events on the storyline.

The movie is titled “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”. It was written by Tom Gormican. According to sources, the script was shown to Cage accompanied with a letter that Gormican wrote.

In the letter, he pleaded his case and talked about how the piece was a love letter to the actor, not something that made fun of him. Cage was convinced and became attached only in recent weeks.

We cannot wait to see the outcome.
