Back in June, NBC canceled the supernatural drama series, Manifest, causing a whirlwind of emotions from fans.

After three seasons on NBC, the studio decided they were not going to pick up the show for a fourth season. The show’s fans took to social media to protest the cancellation and created the hashtag #savemanifest targeted at Netflix.

It now looks like the fans got their wish.

Netflix have announced that they’re picking up Manifest for a fourth and final season. The streaming giants also announced that the new season will consist of 20 episodes, more than the previous three seasons. The first season had 16 episodes, while the second and third consisted of 13 episodes each.

The show’s creator, Jeff Rake took to his Instagram account to announce the news. He wrote, “YES WE DID! #Netflix #20Eps #SavedManifest.”

Netflix’s head of global TV, Bela Bajaria speaking about Manifest said,

“Since its premiere on Netflix in June, Manifest has proven very popular with our members. Jeff Rake and his team have crafted a beguiling mystery that has viewers around the world on the edge of their seats and believing again in second chances, and we’re thrilled that they will bring fans some closure with this final super-sized season,”

Premiering on NBC in September 2018, Manifest ran for three seasons with the finale of the third season airing on June 10, 2021. The third season of the show averaged approximately 3.1 million viewers.

In a statement released after the announcement, Rake thanked the fans for their support. He said,

“What started years ago as a flight of fancy deep in my imagination has evolved into the jet engine journey of a lifetime. Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned the worldwide outpouring of love and support for this story, its characters, and the team who work so hard to bring it all to life. That we will be able to reward the fans with the ending they deserve moves me to no end. On behalf of the cast, the crew, the writers, directors, and producers, thank you to Netflix, to Warner Bros., and of course to the fans. You did this.”
