AMERICAN streaming platform, Netflix has launched its ‘Black Lives Matter’ collection, as racism row rages around the world.
From Wednesday, June 10, 2020, a display pop-up screen for users, has been hosted on the streaming portal, inviting them to explore the service’s selection of movies and TV shows that center on race and the experiences of Black Americans.
“With an understanding that our commitment to true, systemic change will take time – we’re starting by highlighting powerful and complex narratives about the Black experience,” a statement from Netflix read.
The new hub, which can be accessed by searching for ‘Black Lives Matter’ in Netflix’s search function, features titles such as -American film director, Spike Lee’s upcoming movie, Da 5 Bloods, which will be released on Netflix this Friday (June 12); Oscar-winning movie, Moonlight; a documentary 13th; and American screenwriter and director, Dee Rees’ Mudbound.
