Former Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) housemate, Frodd has shared his experience on the set of his debut movie Namaste Wahala.
In a recent chat with Punch, the reality star disclosed that acting his role was hard at first because he was star-struck when he met actor, RMD. But the first-time actor noted that the movie-star restored his confidence.
“Namaste Wahala was everything to me,” Frodd said. It was my debut in Nollywood and to an international audience as well. I worked alongside great actors but the scene with RMD got me excited. I saw a lot of his movies growing up because my mother was a huge fan of his and I loved him too.
“It had to be as real and good as it should. It was a bit hard because I was star-struck; and did not know my first role would have me screaming at my icon. RMD gave me words of encouragement with tips on how best to execute that scene. My confidence was restored and we made a classic.”
In Namaste Wahala Chidinma “Didi” (Ini Dima-Okojie), a Nigerian lawyer, and Rajesh “Raj” (Ruslaan Mumtaz), an Indian investment banker, bumped into each other during their morning run. It was love at first sight but they had to convince their parents to accept the relationship.
The romantic comedy was initially billed for theatrical release in 2020; but it’s release was delayed due to the pandemic and consequent lockdown. Consequently, it made its way to Netflix on February 14.
It stars Mofe Damijo, Ajoke Silva, Inidima Okojie, Osas Ighodaro, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Segal Sujata, Adaora Lumina, Ibrahim Suleiman, Frodd, Imoh Eboh, Osas, Eneeicha, K10, Mexemania and Tience Pay amongst others.
The sound tracks was produced by M.I. Abaga and DJ Suketu.
