Hamisha DaryaniAhuja is currently warming her way into the hearts of Nigerian film enthusiasts with Namaste Wahala, her new film which premiered on Netflix on Valentine’s Day.
In the film, Bollywood and Nollywood came together for a cross-culture love story of an Indian-Nigerian couple.
Namaste Wahala, whose Hindi and Nigerian title translates to “Hello trouble” in English, narrates the story of a Nigerian woman who fell in love with an Indian banker that lives in Lagos, Nigeria.
Since its release, Namaste Wahala has been on the top 10 Nigerian charts on Netflix.

- Daryani-Ahuja debuted her directorial career with Namaste Wahala.
- She shares her roots with both India and Nigeria as she comes from an Indian household but has been born and brought up in Lagos.
- After practically touring the world for studies, she decided to move back to Lagos, where she is now settled with her husband and son.
- Before venturing into filmmaking, she was a restauranter. In fact, she had even founded a successful restaurant called Bistro 7 in the Victoria Island area of Lagos before it was recently acquired by the Chocolate City Group. Today, she is a shareholder of Chocolate City Lounge.
- She is a lover of both Nigerian and Indian cultures.

I could feel the love and culture at the end of movie amongst cast, how you guys enjoyed shooting together. The fun moments, prayer breaks and truly reflecting love and respect from both cultures.
