CONTROVERSIAL singer, Naira Marley has begun the much-talked-about self-isolation expected of him for violating the ongoing lockdown in Lagos.

The musician had reported himself to the police for attending a house party held at Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele‘s house.

As earlier reported, the party was held to celebrate Akindele’s husband, JJC Skillz’s birthday.

Having made himself available to the police, the singer was thereafter charged to court, alongside former governorship aspirant in Lagos, Babatunde Gbadamosi who was also at the party.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, Naira Marley appeared before a Magistrate Court in Ogba area of Lagos, where all the charges against him were dropped on the condition that he writes an apology letter addressed to the Lagos State Government and also agree to self-isolate himself in his home for 14 days.

Complying to the condition given by the Magistrate court, the singer apologies to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the state, and Lagosians at large, for going against the lockdown order, which is to curtail the spread of the dreaded coronavirus.

His apology letter read partly; “that I agree to be in self-isolation in my house at the above address for a period of 14 days from today, Thursday, 9th April 2020 and that the Lagos State Ministry of Health should supervise my isolation.”
