Nigerian music sensation Naira Marley visited the national headquarters of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in August 2023.
Naira Marley, known for his controversial music and polarizing opinions, met with the Agency’s Chairman, Brig Gen Buba Marwa (RTD), during his visit.
In a video shared on NDLEA’s social media, Naira Marley urged his fans, known as Marlians, and all Nigerian youths to abstain from drugs, emphasizing that substance abuse is detrimental to well-being.
He expressed his support for NDLEA’s campaign to combat drug use on the streets.
The unexpected support from Naira Marley, who had previously displayed behaviors associated with substance use, surprised many.
In the past, he had faced scrutiny from authorities for his stance and music content, which some considered controversial.
Despite his prior associations with drugs, NDLEA hopes that Naira Marley’s influence and endorsement will contribute to reducing drug use among Nigerian youths.
