Popular singer, Ayo Balogun otherwise known as Wizkid, has stated that his fans inspired Made in Lagos, his recently-released album.
In an interview with Vogue, the music star explained that the body of work is a revolution of his art and music landscape.
Wizkid said the songs in Made in Lagos are endless love stories, adding that he had a burning desire to serve his fans with something entire different from what he’s known for, including his sound.
“We can make the Socos and the party songs a billion times, but sometimes I just want to give the people a different type of vibe,” he admitted.
Recently, Wizkid’s Made in Lagos hit 100 million streams on Apple Music.
The album, which he released on October 30, 2020, is now second only to his 2017 label debut, Sounds From the Other Side, which surpassed Made In Lagos with about 10 million streams.
Both albums performed a lot better than Wizkid’s first three with Superstar having 18, 583, 677, Soundman Vol. 1 having 24, 342, 667 streams, Ayo having 35, 373, 936.
