Nigerian rapper, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, popularly known as Vector has revealed that he has no plans to run for an elective position.
He brought this revelation to light in a recent chat with Punch, while speaking on making conscious music, particularly about the societal ills in Nigeria.
Vector disclosed that while many people are waiting for him to run for an elective position, he has no intention at the moment. However, he stated that he is wiling to contribute to the “good of the society”.
“I did not even plan to be vocal in the first place. I grew up with the mentality that Nigeria could not be good again and that opportunity comes but once. I have seen realised that is a silly belief. As a kid growing up in the middle of such false arguments, there was no way it was by my doing that I chose to do my best,” Vector said.
“My parents raised us to be content, so that must have aided my stance, now that I think about it. As for running for an elective post, I don’t have any intention as we speak but I have been told, even in the barracks, that they are waiting for me to run for office. I have always said to myself that I am willing to contribute to whatever must be done for the good of society.”
Vector, is set to release his long awaited album, T.E.S.L.I.M featuring M.I in March. The inspiration behind the album, he said, popped up while he was preparing for his father’s funeral.
