Afropop musician Mr Eazi has called out the organizers of the Headies for not fulfilling their promise of giving him a car when he won in the Next Rated category back in 2016.
The singer made this known in a snide response tweet to HipTV. HipTV had earlier tweeted about Mr Eazi and girlfriend Temi Otedola’s synced couple’s style.

To which Mr Eazi replied:

The car Mr Eazi is referring to here is the one he was promised in addition to his Headies Award three whole years ago!
Mr Eazi won Next Rated artiste at Headies 2016. He surpassed Humblesmith, Aramide, and Ycee for the highly coveted prize.
Tekno was initially up for the award. Unfortunately, he was disqualified for not meeting the basic requirements.
Mr Eazi broke into the music scene in 2015 when he released the dancehall-infused track “Skin Tight”.
After dropping a string of certified hits, the Nigerian music industry had to pay attention.
He is the pioneer of Banku Music, a fusion sound he describes as a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.
In January 2019, Mr Eazi’s name appeared on the list of performers at Coachella.
In August 2019, Mr Eazi launched emPawa Africa, a talent incubation initiative to nurture and support up-and-coming artists in Africa.
