Most Nollywood movies on Netflix painful to watch – Bobby Obodo

Bobby Obodo Nollywood Netflix

Nollywood actor Bobby Obodo has criticized moviemakers in the country over the quality of Nollywood films making their way into Netflix.

Bobby Obodo tweeted on Tuesday saying the majority of Nollywood movies on Netflix are becoming ‘painful’ to watch.

“Most of the movies we are putting out on #Netflix are becoming painful to see,” he said.

The actor urged movie producers to desist from producing movies that viewers would detest. He added they need to use this an opportunity to reach the world.

“Everybody wants their ‘shit’ on Netflix – I suspect for $$$ and bragging rights. I hope creative producers/directors/writers will start putting out good movies.; for them to save us the shame and ridicule that can befall #Nollywood before it is too late.

“Lazy and predictable storylines, horrible extras, disastrous costumes, etc. This opportunity is golden!” said the ‘Husbands of Lagos’ star.

Bobby Obodo made his Nollywood debut in 2011. He has starred in a number of movies alongside Monalisa Chinda-Coker, Lisa Omorodion, Lydia Forson, Genevieve Nnaji, Tonto Dikeh, Charles Okafor, Jackie Appiah, and many others.

The movie star has also featured in movies such as ‘Mrs Somebody’, ‘Weekend Getaway’, ‘Reflections’, ‘Misplaced’, ‘A Mother’s Fight’, ’30 Years A Virgin’ among others.
