Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, an animated series based on supernatural beings such as Moremi, will premiere in Nigeria in December.
The series will make its local debut next month, with several screenings and events planned.
The anthology series stars Kehinde Bankole in the iconic role of Moremi.
Shofola Coker, the creator and director of the Yoruba-inspired sci-fi animation Moremi made the announcement on Instagram. Moremi is the fifth episode of a ten-part series.
The episode, co-written by Vanessa Kanu, tells the story of Luo, a lonely spirit boy trapped in a spirit realm plagued by terrifying giants.
Moremi, a Nigerian particle physicist, saves him and helps him reconnect with lost memories.
According to the information released, Kizazi Moto will make its first Nigerian appearance on December 4. The evenet will happen at the Zuma festival in Abuja.
The festival will also feature four other Kizazi Moto film specials, as well as a question and answer session with Coker.
The Moremi episode will then premiere on December 6, 2023 at the Filmhouse Landmark Cinemas in Lagos.
It will be released in theatres in association with the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), which just finished its annual film festival.
