Michelle Obama has been named the “most admired woman” in the world for the second time in a row.
The former first lady, surpassed the current US first lady, Melania Trump in the 2019 Gallup’s annual poll.
It is the second year in a row Obama has earned the accolade of world’s most venerated woman. The 55-year-old took ten per cent of the vote, followed by Melania Trump who gained five per cent of it.
Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Greta Thunberg all took three per cent of the vote each.
Obama was also named the most admired woman worldwide in a poll carried out by YouGov in July – coming higher than the Queen.
The ex- US president and former US first lady have established a foundation which mentors young leaders across the world since departing the White House.
However, Michelle’s book Becoming became one of the most popular memoirs in history and bestselling book of 2019. Moreover, Michelle Obama might soon add another award to her mantel.
The former first lady was nominated for her 2018 memoir “Becoming.” If she won, this would be her first Grammy but her household’s third. Former US President, Barrack Obama has won two Grammys in the same category.
