‘Michael,’ the highly anticipated biopic about Michael Jackson, the late king of pop, will be released on April 18, 2025.
Lionsgate has announced that production on ‘Michael’ will begin on January 22.
John Logan’s script delves into the complicated journey of the man who became the King of Pop. It captures both triumphs and tragedies, as well as the singer’s personal struggles and creativity.
The film’s synopsis reads:
“‘Michael’ will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became the King of Pop.”
“The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale — from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, exemplified by his most iconic performances.
“As never before, audiences will experience an inside look into one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known.”
The film will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, a well-known director.
Fuqua previously stated that the film would “tell the facts as we know them, about the artist, about the man, about the human being— the good, bad, and ugly.”
He went on to say that Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, was the obvious choice to play his uncle in the play.
Jaafar Jackson, Jermaine Jackson’s son, expressed his gratitude on social media, writing, “I am humbled and honoured to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life.”
Michael rose to international prominence as a result of his contributions to the music and entertainment industries.
Among Jackson’s most famous works is ‘Thriller,’ which remains one of the best-selling albums of all time.
He also made signature dance moves like the moonwalk popular.
The singer passed away from cardiac arrest caused by a drug overdose in June 2009.
