Meghan Markle seeks £1.5 million after winning a privacy lawsuit against The Mail, which had published parts of a letter written to her father.

In February, a judge at London’s high court ruled that The Daily Mail printed out the tabloid, which breached her privacy and infringed her copyright by exposing the letter without her permission.

The Judge, Mark Warby, didn’t hold a trial and ruled in her favour even though the paper argued the duchess had wanted the letters to become public. At a hearing on Tuesday to finalize the costs and the unresolved issues, Meghan’s lawyers demanded £1.5 million in legal fees; and half of the amount must be paid within two weeks.

The lawyers also demanded that The Daily Mail hands over any copies it has of the letter and also to get a court order that the paper published a statement on its front page, stating Meghan had won the lawsuit against them. They should also place a notice on their online page for not less than six months.

For the past year, Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, have been all over British newspapers. Clearly, there has been a lot of attention on them since they left the royal family.

On Sunday, the couple’s highly-anticipated interview with the U.S TV host, Oprah Winfrey. We can only imagine how much Harry and Meghan have to say about their experience with the royal family.
