American actress Meagan Good and her husband, movie producer, DeVon Franklin are ending their marriage after nine years together

Reports reveal Franklin filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Monday at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse to end their marriage.

The couple explained in a joint statement,

“After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault. We believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.”

They added that they are “incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”

The duo got married in 2012 after they met on the set of the 2011 film, “Jumping the Broom”.

Although, the reason for the split is unknown, it is coming as a shock to many. Only a few weeks ago, the motivational speaker supported his wife’s new Amazon Prime series, “Harlem” on his instagram page. He also shared a trailer from the series. At the time, he captioned the video,

“Gushing about Good, I’m so proud of my love @Meagangood! She’s one of the most talented actors on the planet AND she’s funnier than you may know but I’m so glad you finally get a chance to see her do it all as Camille Parks in the new Amazon show #Harlem @Harlemonprime!!’

Good responded saying, “My Loooove… thank you. Heart’ah’smilin. Love you!”

The couple is famous for sharing their celibacy journey before getting married in 2012. They also co-authored a book called “The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life” and “The Life You Love”.
