Christmas just got better for Mariah Carey. The pop star has been honoured by Guinness World Records for her classic 1994 jam, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The song broke three world records.
Mariah Carey now holds the record for the highest charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Hot 100 by a solo artist. In addition, the most streamed track spotify in 24 hours and the most weeks in the UK singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song.
All three of these records will be included in the 2020 edition of ‘Guinness World Records 2020.’ Carey was presented with her certificate during a holiday show in Las Vegas.
“Thank you so much Guinness World Records for honouring me with three records in the 2020 book,” she wrote on Instagram. Along with a photo of herself beaming onstage with the certificate. Her 8-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan were also present.
Michael from Guinness World Records presented her with a certificate on stage. So naturally, she asked him to join her to perform her song.
“All I Want For Christmas Is You” is one of the most popular and best selling songs in history. The mother-of-two is currently in a relationship with Bryan Tanaka, her dancer and Choreographer. Recently, Carey revealed that she can count the number of lovers she has had in one hand. She said the few men she has dated have been a variety pack. Congratulations to Carey.
