Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark on HBO’s hit TV show “Game of Thrones” made her professional acting debut in 2011, on the show!
Asides being an actress, she is also an entrepreneur and an activist – all without having an formal certification or qualifications. Her career has been shaped by an arrangement of random opportunities that turn out to become fantastic life changing events.
During her talk at TEDxManchester, Maisie tells the story of working on the set of “Game of Thrones” from the age of 12.
She spoke about how, at age 10, she decided to stop schooling and got into stage school instead, how she wanted to become a dancer and how she landed the role to play Arya Stark.
She discusses her platform Daisie and talks about how it will redefine creative collaboration as well as why she thinks right now is the perfect time to build tools for communities.
“Daisie is a social media platform aimed at creative people in the world of arts, fashion, tv, film, photography, music, and literature. The aim of the app is to bring individuals from across industries together, to help foster collaborations with other artists and provide an alternative route into creative industries.”
