Kenyan actress, Lupita Nyong’o is a glamorous goddess in over $3.5 million worth of diamonds at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
In a gorgeous custom black and white Louis Vuitton gown that was embellished with 32,000 sequins and crystals, the 37-year-old Oscar-winning actress grabbed the public’s attention.
The gown was created by Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, which took more than 106 hours to make according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“We really wanted to harness the elegance and timelessness and modernity that Lupita embodies and values,” says her stylist Micaela Erlanger of the Louis Vuitton custom gown paired with 90 carats of Forevermark diamonds.
The US star also rocked ‘statement chandelier earrings’ from the Foreevermark Black Label Collection with a whopping 32.78 carats of diamonds. Her three rings from Forevermark by Rahaminov and Forevermark by Premier Gem include 23 carats of diamonds, while the two bracelets she wore from Forevermark by Rahaminov included over 33 carats of diamonds.
The oscar-winning actress was nominated for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor In A Lead Role honour for Us, but she lost to actress Renée Zellweger, for Judy.
Lupita Nyong’o is set to star in the HBO limited series Americanah, based on Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie‘s best-selling novel.
