Uzor Arukwe played the role of Odogwu Obiora in the newly released Omoni Oboli’s blockbuster movie, Love In Every Word. His role has been critically acclaimed following the success of the movie that debuted on the video streaming platform YouTube.
In the movie, Uzor, who played the role of the wealthy chief, Odogwu Obiora, was seeking the affection and love of Chioma (played by Big Brother Naija star, Bam Bam). He often offered her money, pieces of jewelry and other gifts to show his genuine desire for her and to also seek her hand in marriage. Interestingly, his love interest failed to show immediate love in him, however, they got engaged in the concluding part of the film.
Uzor has received backlash for his role in the movie and has been criticized predominantly by social media users for portraying Igbo men as “simps”.

Responding to the X user, Arukwe explained that taking care of one’s partner and spending money on them doesn’t make a simp but responsible man.
He wrote, “Taking care of your woman and spending money on her doesn’t make you a simp. It only makes you a responsible man.
“How else do you show love to your partner if you can’t take care of their needs from the abundance of your wealth?”
