The project opens with distinctly African percussion on the Worlasi-assisted “Nyafu Riddim”. It then takes a sharp turn with “Normal” — a track that finds Juls contrasting the afrobeat-influenced sound with a grime feature from British rapper, Kojey Radical.
This dynamic change sets the tone for the rest of the album, as Juls delves into a multitude of different genres, backed up by artists from all over the world — from Tanzania to Canada — and also aided by the skillful guitarist, Sonzi, as well as Kaasare on the saxophone.
Commenting on the idea behind the project, Juls shared; “It’s 10 new tracks that are all perfect for the summertime, and a great blend of different sounds and traditional vibes.”
Promising new act, Oxlade delivers a super strong opening verse and chorus on the tapes 4th track, “Angelina”, which also features Falz. The Canadian R&B singer, Sway Clarke does an incredible job on his solo track, “Sweetie Odo” — one of the standouts off the project.
