Alicia Keys, American singer and songwriter has made a music scene comeback with a sensational single; titled Good Job, dedicated to essential workers.
Good Job is targeted at the unsung heroes who are “always in disguise;” whose works are critical to getting us through the coronavirus crisis.
Keys praises the essential workers for their heroism and selflessness amid the Covid-19 outbreak in the world. She also encourages doctors, nurses and Police, to not give up in their fight against the virus.
“You’re doing a good job, don’t get too down… The world needs you now, know that you matter, matter, matter, yeah,” she sings.
Although Keys wrote the track in 2019 with her husband Swizz Beatz, The-Dream, and Avery Chambliss. According to a press release, she initially wrote the song in tribute to the unsung heroes in her life but it gained newfound relevance amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“Whether you’re on the front lines at the hospitals, balancing work, family and home-school teaching, delivering mail, packages, or food, or facing other personal difficulties because of COVID-19, I feel you,” Keys said in the press release. “You are seen, loved and deeply appreciated.”
Good Job will appear on Alicia Keys’ next record ALICIA, which was set to arrive March 20 but is now postponed indefinitely. ALICIA also features Show Me Love, Underdog, and Time Machine.
