Azonto crooner, Fuse ODG has pleaded with Ghanaian DJs to limit the way they play Nigerian songs. The sentiment is perhaps from Burna Boy’s grammy nomination. It’s no news that Nigerian music is gaining more grounds in other countries.
Fuse feels Ghanaian DJs do not value their own. Thus they need to promote more of the underground acts in Ghana. Adding that if Nigerians had the same opportunity they have, everyone knows what will happen. According to Fuse, Ghanaian DJs are reducing the popularity of Ghana songs. In addition to his plea, he says they should sell their music.
Fuse ODG, an advocate for Ghanaian music retweeted after a Ghanaian on twitter wrote it. See tweet below;
” If you be Ghanaian DJ wey you no go play songs from underground acts Abeg you jus limit your NAIJA content!!! Cos if Nigerians had this opportunity we all know what’s gonna happen!!! Let’s sell Ghanaian music to these visitors properly!!!
British Ghanaian rapper Fuse ODG was born and raised in London. He does, however, speak fluent Ghanaian, and spent time in the country later in life in order to learn about his cultural background.
He brought Azonto to the world in a single ( the follow up to ‘Antenna’) of the same name.
