Nollywood actress and BBNaija alum Venita Akpofure says that leaving her marriage was one of the toughest decisions she has ever had to make.
The mother of two shared in an interview with Punch that so much came into consideration when she thought of leaving her marriage, especially the thought of being a single mother. Akpofure said, “Being a single mother is not easy, especially if one works a lot. I had to multi-task to make sure I’m there for my kids.”
Venita, 34, star said, “It became known to the public about seven months after I had moved out of my matrimonial home. I am grateful that I had a great support system that really helped me through that period,” she said.
Venita Akpofure and Terna Tarka got married in 2015. The actress announced her separation from Tarka in 2019 and debunked rumours that she was a victim of domestic violence. According to Venita, the dissolution of their marriage was a mutual decision.
That same year, Akpofure went on the reality TV show Big Brother Naija despite already being famous. After the show, the video vixen became the face of a lot of brands.
But apparently, that’s not where she gets fulfilment. In the chat with Punch, she said, “I don’t consider being in the limelight as a fulfilment. Fulfilment, for me, comes from within, which is when I am meeting personal goals and providing for my kids.”
