Kylie Jenner Sues Company for Trying to Trademark “Stormi Couture”

Kylie Jenner is suing a company called Business Moves Consulting for trying to trademark “Stormi Couture” just a month after she gave birth. Apparently, she believes the company was trying to make money off her daughter’s name; filing the trademark “in bad faith”.

Back in 2019, Kylie Jenner filed documents to trademark her daughter Stormi’s name (and Stormiworld!); for use in everything from clothing to toys to skincare products.

Ironically, Business Moves reportedly tried to sue Kylie first for her trademark filing infringing on their own. But now, Kylie Jenner is “asking the trademark office to cancel BMC’s ‘Stormi Couture’ trademark” because it was “fraudulent.”

In legal documents, Kylie’s team says, “The Stormi name is popular; uniquely and unmistakably [ties back] to Stormi Webster”, TMZ reports.

Kylie also says BMC has a history of this sort of trademark behavior involving other celebrities; including DJ Khaled. He sued the company over their “Asahd Couture” trademark back in 2018; believing they were ripping off his son’s name for their benefit.

This comes as Kylie is spending lockdown at home in Los Angeles. Unsurprisingly, the billionaire admitted to fans she is struggling with ‘boredom’ while inside during the coronavirus pandemic.

However, this lawsuit seems like a bit of a stretch; considering that Kylie tried to trademark “rise and shine” a few years back. Her older sister, Kim Kardashian, tried to trademark “Kimono”; the Japanese signature item of clothing that has existed for hundreds of years.

With this track record, are the Kardashian-Jenners in the right to accuse anyone of trying to steal their ideas or name tags?
