King of Boys Sequel: Who’s Ready to Meet Mrs. Jumoke Randle?

As the production for King of Boys sequel is well underway, actress Nse Ikpe-Etim will join the cast of the 2018 drama and political thriller.

The movie star, on Monday, August 17, 2020, took to her social media pages, to announce that she will be taking a role in the highly anticipated sequel.

Being part of the star-studded movie, Ikpe-Etim will play the character of Mrs. Jumoke Randle, the wife of Governor Tunde Randle in the sequel.

Sharing a picture of the script sent to her by the movie producer/director, Kemi Adetiba, she wrote, “It’s official. I am joining the King of Boys’ family on its sequel. Thank you @kemiadetiba for your inspiring work and I cannot wait to create magic with you and the rest of the team.”

Commenting on Ikpe-Etim’s addition, Adetiba said she had always looked forward to working with her, and the King of Boys sequel is a perfect opportunity for her.

Adetiba however hinted of the inclusion of many other Nollywood stars. 

“The KING OF BOYS might have her hands full in this sequel,” she wrote.

Released in 2018, King of Boys tells the story of a businesswoman and philanthropist with a promising political future.

It is however noteworthy that the movie features star actors, including –Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Toni Tonnes, Sola Sobowale, amongst others.

The movie, produced by Adetiba, however, won big at the 15th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

For her role as Alhaja Eniola Salami in the blockbuster, Sobowale was crowned Africa’s best actress.

Similarly, Etomi-Wellington emerged the best actress in a Supporting Role category, due to her brilliant acting in the movie.

Adetiba was also rewarded with an award when the film was adjudged the best Nigerian film.

With nine nominations and three awards, King of Boys was the Nigerian film with the highest number of awards at the 2019 AMAA.
