Forbes has shut down reports that Kim Kardashian West is now a billionaire after she sold 20 percent stake of her beauty line to American multinational beauty company, COTY, for $200 million.
This comes after her rapper husband, Kanye West, 43, took to social media on Tuesday, to brag about her billionaire status after her deal with COTY.
“I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire,” Kanye wrote.
“You’ve weathered the craziest storms and now God is shining on you and our family. So blessed this is still life.”
But according to the publication that striped Kylie Jenner of billionaire status, her older sister isn’t one either.
Forbes said the 39-year-old reality star and mother of four is worth about $900million after inking a deal with Coty Inc. to sell a 20 percent stake in the company, which sells make-up and fragrances, for $200million
It added that the deal values KKW Beauty at $1 billion, not that she is one yet, but close.
The outlet estimates that Kim has a 72 percent stake in the company now (majority ownership) and that her mother Kris Jenner owns an 8 percent stake.
The publication recently revoked Kylie‘s youngest billionaire title, accusing her of “lying about company figures and forging tax returns” and suggesting that she is worth around $900million in its report titled “Inside Kylie Jenner’s Web of Lies — and Why She’s No Longer a Billionaire.”
Last month, Kylie slammed Forbes after the publication released the bombshell report.
It appeared the reality star was taken by surprise at the article, which claims Kylie Cosmetics is not doing as well as the Jenners want people to think – and that the Lip Kit creator is not actually a billionaire.
Forbes named Kylie the world’s youngest self-made billionaire in 2019 and again in 2020, and of her surprise over their latest article she wrote on Twitter: “What am i even waking up to. i thought this was a reputable site.
“All i see are a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol. i’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. period”
