Kevin Spacey back to acting after sexual misconduct allegations

Spacey

American actor, Kevin Spacey is set to make his film acting comeback. The actor was accused of sexual assault several times in the last four years. He is looking to feature in a small role as a detective in an Italian crime drama.

61-year-old Spacey is set to play a cop investigating the case of a man – played by the actor, Franco Nero. Despite being blind Nero can draw people by listening to their voices and is wrongfully accused of sexually assaulting children.

This will be the disgraced actor’s first film appearance. The Oscar Award-winning actor was accused of several sexual harassment and bullying allegations in late 2017.

The Italian film called “L’uomo Che Disegno Dio” – The Man Who Drew God is directed by Franco Nero. The film will also star Nero’s wife, British star Vanessa Redgrave.

Speaking of the movie, Nero said: “I’m very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film. I consider him a great actor and I can’t wait to start the movie”.

Kevin Spacey to feature in new film

Spacey was fired from his starring role in Netflix‘s “House of Cards” in November 2017. This was following several sexual harassment and bullying charges against him mounted. In 2001, at least 20 young men who worked at the Old Vic, the London theatre where Spacey was the artistic director, reported sexual assault charges against him.

In 2018, Spacey was also charged with indecent assault in Nantucket Island, Mass. The incident involved a teenage boy and Spacey pled not guilty. Prosecutors in Los Angeles dismissed a sexual battery lawsuit in October 2019 because the accuser had died. Meanwhile, in July 2020 prosecutors dropped a case because the teenager who accused Spacey of groping him declined to testify.

Anthony Rapp, a Star Trek actor, and another man filed a lawsuit in September 2020 accusing Spacey of sexual assaults while they were adolescents in the 1980s.

Rapp first spoke out against the star in 2017. He filed a lawsuit in which he described sexual advances made to him when he was 14 years old. When Rapp first made the allegation, Spacey released a statement apologizing for not remembering the experience.
