American singer, Katy Perry, has welcomed the arrival of a baby girl with Pirates of the Caribbean star, Orlando Bloom.
The celebrity couple announced the good news in a statement shared on UNICEF‘s official Twitter page where they serve as Goodwill Ambassadors alongside a black and white picture of them holding their baby’s hand.
“Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and Orlando Bloom’s new bundle of joy,” they said in a statement.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”
The couple met for the first time at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016. According to onlookers, the two were acting quite flirty and left the event together. After a year of dating, the couple called their relationship quits, but later reconciled. Orlando proposed on valentine’s day with a beautiful ruby engagement ring.
Katy announced she was pregnant with her first baby in March by displaying her blossoming bump in her music video for ‘Never Worn White’ at the beginning of March.
The song also pays homage to her romance with Orlando with lyrics like, “Cause I’ve never worn white/But I wanna get it right/Yeah, I really wanna try with you/No, I’ve never worn white/But I’m standin’ here tonight/Cause I really wanna say ‘I do.'”
She then confirmed on Instagram by writing alongside the video: “It’s gonna be a jam packed summer.”
This will be the first child for Katy and the second for Orlando who shares a nine-year-old son, Flynn with his model ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
