Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has received an award for Best Actress In A Supporting Role at the South Africa International Film Festival: Rapid Lion Award 2020.
The well-deserved recognition is for her role in the film, The Ghost and the House of Truth.
The actress made the announcement via her Instagram page, celebrating it and also sharing a picture.
“I am beyond happy to have won this award on Saturday, 14th March, 2020 all the way in South Africa and have my work judged by a competent jury 💃💃🎊🎊🌟🥂 . Thank you @rapidlion_filmfestival Thank you,” she wrote.
Her win is coming on the heels of her calling for the removal of Senator Elisha Abbo as the grand patron of Nigeria. Senator Abbo’s appointment was approved by the president of the guild, Emeka Rollas.
Being one of Nollywood’s foremost actors, Henshaw made her first appearance on the screen in 1993 as the lead role in the movie When the Sun Sets.
Kate Henshaw has since gone on to star in various major Nollywood films including: Stronger Than Pain, My Little Secret, Chief Daddy, New Money, amonst others.
