Kanye West Samples “If” by Davido On Gospel Song

Kanye West Davido

Newly born again American rapper Kanye West, along with his choir band, recently performed a gospel song which sampled “If” by Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Davido.

Ever since his conversion the “Jesus Walks” rapper continues to find ways to make his new gospel music more relatable. In the clip, the Grammy award-winning rapper nodded his head to the rendition of the choir.

This was after they sang a Christian cover of Beyonce and Wizkid’s “Brown Skin Girl”, replacing the titular lyrics with “light of the world”.

The choir’s rendition of the song featured the “I love you” refrain. Although it was quite obvious they were telling it to God and not Bridget with the mini-skirt

Check out the video below:

Davido released “If” in February of 2017 and re-released as track 5 on his second album “A Good Time”. The song won Best Pop Single and Song of the Year at The Headies 2018.

OBO Baddest Davido is new to the international music scene. In the course of his career, he has collaborated with Chris Brown, Rae Sremmurd, and Tinashe among others.

It was even recently revealed that Davido had recorded a remix for his hit song “Fall” with American rapper Cardi B!

Now, it seems he has caught Kanye’s attention. Eventually, a collaboration might come out of this. We sure would love to hear what Davido would sound like with Kanye West on a Christain song.
